Not too long ago while on vacation I stopped at Das Peach Haus in Fredericksburg, TX and discovered they sold a homemade ice cream called Charred Pineapple/Bourbon. I tried some and had to go back the next day to buy some more. I was hooked. It makes probably the most wonderful ice cream I have ever tasted. I bought two bottles of the Charred Pineapple/Bourbon sauce and when I came back home I had to go out and buy an ice cream maker so I could make my own. I just finished making the second batch and I'm here at Amazon now thinking of buying some more of the sauce so I don't ever have to be without this critical ingredient when the urge strikes to make this delicious ice cream.
The folks at Das Peach Haus very generously shared the ice cream recipe with me, but I also discovered the recipe online. Just look for Fischer & Wieser recipes and you will probably find it. The ice cream is quite sweet so if your sweet tooth isn't quite as well developed as mine is you might want to cut back on the sugar to about 1/2 cup when you make it.

This has to be one of the best and most versatile sauces I have ever used. Not only does it taste great, there are so many ways to use it. Great on meat, poultry and fish,but also great with chips or made into different dips. Mix it with cream cheese and you have a wonderful spread for crackers. I have even made savory pastries with the sauce and frozen puff pastry! Can't get enough of this stuff! I would highly recommend this sauce. I've been trying other sauces made by Fischer & Wieser and so far so good. This is the least spicy of there sauces.

Love this brand of sauces. The Charred Pineapple Bourbon sauce is so good on pancakes or waffles. My daughter used it to top her meatloaf, and it was awesome.
